BASEBALL

EAST 6, WEST 5

Southern California Futures

All-Star Game

Highlights: East — Mitchell Korey had two hits and Boyd bell had a double and an RBI. The East collected seven hits. The East pulled out the win in the bottom of the ninth inning. West — Taylor Hansen had a double, two RBIs and scored a run. Boyd Bell had a double and RBI. Trevor Gretzky had two hits and an RBI. The West had 11 hits.

SATICOY 17, HUENEME 1

CBC All-Star Tournament

Highlights: Saticoy — The 8-and-under all-stars advance to Friday's 6 p.m. championship game. The Saticoy players are Michael Cardona, Justice Chavez, Dylan Gleissner, Jake Harwood, Jerrett Howery, Griffey Meeker, Adam Ontiveros, Robert Pila, Jacob Reardon, Ethan Reyes, Jonathon Romo and Noah Slife.

TEAMS PLACE IN OXNARD TOURNAMENT

The 10-and-under Oxnard Sharks awarded trophies to the top two teams in Saturday's and Sunday's Battle at the Beach. The Santa Clarita Force was the 9-and-under champion and the Ventura County Warriors were second. The SoCal Diamonds won the 10-and-under title over the SoCal Bucs. The Bakersfield Southwest All-Stars won the 12-and-under championship over the Moorpark All-Stars.

YANKEES WIN CHAMPIONSHIP

Simi Valley Baseball League

Highlights: Yankees — The Major Division Yankees defeated the Red Sox, 11-0, in the championship game. Parker Meintzer pitched a complete game and had three hits. Anthony Dorr played well at first base and added a hit. Craig Stokx scored two runs. Tristan Friedl, Matthew Minick and Brandon Silberman each had two hits. Kurtis Sapiro played well at catcher and scored a run. Glenn Hodge had a hit. John Gale played well on defense. Jackson Vaughn was injured and unable to play. Rudy Alvarez drove in a run. Vince Friedl is the manager. Greg Minick is a coach. Steve Dorr, Lyle Meintzer and Brian Silberman are assistant coaches. Sandra Dorr is team mom.

BASKETBALL

HEAT TO PLAY IN NIKE TOURNAMENT

The Heat travel club team will play in the annual Nike End of the Trail July 6-9 in Oregon City and Portland. The players are Rebecca Herrera (Fillmore), Jill Wilber (Fillmore), Samantha Strang (Buena), Holly Holcomb (Buena), Juliette Marquez (St. Bonaventure), Erin Peterson (St. Bonaventure), Sabrina Jimenez (Granite Hills, San Diego), Lauren Bender (Granite Hills, San Diego) and Jazmine Cooks (Pioneer Valley, Santa Maria). SOFTBALL

SEASIDE WINS CHAMPIONSHIP

Carpinteria Tournament

Highlights: Seaside — The 12-and-under all-stars finished 5-1. After losing an opening game against Fillmore, Seaside had wins over Sylmar, Santa Monica, Simi Valley Bronze, Fillmore and Simi Valley Silver. Seaside defeated Simi Valley Silver, 8-0, in the championship and outscored the opposition, 60-6. The players are Alexi Arias, Alexus Waldron, Brianna Pena, Crystal Lopez, Isabel Gonzalez, Kiyanna Watley, Mary-Cruz Olquin, Meagan Contreras, Melissa Serrano, Meredith Hilgenberg, Olivia Hernandez and Sarah Carrillo. The coaches are Sarah Hilgenberg, Peter Hernandez and John Carrillo. Seaside finished second to La Cañada in the 14-and-under division. Seaside finished second to Santa Monica in the 12-and-under division. Seaside defeated La Cañada for third place.

MOORPARK HOSTS DISTRICT

The Moorpark Girls Softball Association will host the Western B District Tournament Friday through Sunday with games being played at Arroyo Vista Park, Mountain Meadows Park and Moorpark High. Divisions will include 8 and under, 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, and high school. The tournament features 44 teams. Information: http://moorparkgirlssoftball.net.
