Local ties: Native Santa Barbaran, now lives in Hollywood.
Album: "One of the Boys," released Tuesday on Capitol Records.
Hit songs and videos: "UR So Gay" and "I Kissed a Girl."
Celebrity fans: Madonna, Perez Hilton.

Santa Barbara haunts: Super Rica Taqueria ("so delicious after a nice surf at the point," she said), Sunken Gardens, Santa Barbara Bowl (the first time she went to a rock concert there, she sneaked in to see Radiohead), and "random thrift stores and antique stores by Hamburger Hamlet" in Goleta. In Ventura, she likes "Golf 'n' Stuff by the freeway."
Vague Ventura memory: Perry said that when she was starting out as a singer, she did an open mic show "someplace in Ventura with an open courtyard."
On her spirituality now that she's no longer a Christian poster girl: "I'm just kind of in that weird moment in my life where ... it's like at Hurricane Harbor and I'm in that lagoon that keeps on going in circles and my hands are really prune-y, and I have a drink and my little floaty thing, and I'm chilling. I don't really know what I want to do."
