Teens for Humanity Recognition Ceremony honored 14 students from Moorpark High School

(MOORPARK, CA - June 18, 2008) - On Friday June 6th, 2008, fourteen Moorpark High School students, two teachers and their counselor/club advisor were recognized for their work as part of Teens for Humanity. Teens for Humanity is a student led club that strives towards teaching tolerance, acceptance of others and promoting peace on their school campus with events like their recent Peace Leaders Camp. The event honoring the students was hosted by the Jewish Family of Conejo, Simi and West Valleys and Energetix Jewelry, Inc. All honorees were presented with a beautiful "healing heart" for their hard work and effort. They were all photographed individually with Kimber Sax, Los Angeles Jewish Publications, Inc., COO and Jeff Weisberg, Energetix Jewelry, Inc., CEO as well as especially invited school officials including Moorpark Unified School District Superintendent Ellen Smith, Assistant Superintendent Anna Merriman, Moorpark High School Principal Kirk Miyashiro and Student Assistance Counselor/Teens for Humanity Advisor Karla Arriarán-Rodriguez. Ms. Sax and Mr. Weisberg spoke about their experiences and recognized Moorpark High School students for their contributions to their school and to their community. Karla Arriarán-Rodriguez followed by taking the opportunity to thank the Los Angeles Jewish Publications, Inc. and Energetix Jewelry, Inc. on behalf of Moorpark Unified School District, Moorpark High School and Teens for Humanity for a memorable recognition ceremony. "We hope to continue to make Teens for Humanity bigger and better, said Mrs. Arriarán-Rodriguez.
