Jack O'Connell to speak at Democratic Party meeting
State Superintendent of Public Education Jack O'Connell will be the keynote speaker Saturday when the Ventura County Democratic Central Committee holds its annual Spring Fling.
The Spring Fling will be from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the Rosenmund Ranch, 2816 Rice Road, Oxnard.
Scheduled to attend the event are Assemblyman Pedro Nava, Assemblywoman Julie Brownley, Oxnard Mayor Tom Holden, and state Senate candidates Fran Pavley and Hannah-Beth Jackson. Bill Gallaher, chairman of the central committee, will be the master of ceremonies.
Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door.
