4 arrested, 3 vehicles recovered by CHP
The California Highway Patrol's Ventura County Auto Theft Taskforce on Saturday recovered three stolen vehicles and made four arrests in Oxnard, authorities said.
While watching a stolen pickup near the corner of Ventura Road and Devonshire Drive on Saturday morning, investigators saw a sedan being driven erratically, according to the CHP.
Authorities said the car had been reported stolen earlier that morning. Investigators followed it to a nearby Jack in the Box, where they arrested the driver, Angie Martinez, 24, and passenger Selene Bosquet, 44, both of Oxnard.
Martinez had two outstanding arrest warrants and was charged with auto theft. Bosquet was arrested on suspicion of parole violations, according to the CHP.
When investigators returned to the pickup, reported stolen out of Sylmar, they saw Alfredo Roman Perez, 28, of Los Angeles attempting to sell it to an innocent purchaser, authorities said.
Perez also had fraudulent title and registration documents, according to CHP.
Investigators said Jose Antonio Miranda, 27, of Simi Valley, was waiting nearby for Perez to complete the sale in a car reported stolen from Los Angeles.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of auto theft and booked into the Ventura County Jail.
Investigators said they were initially led to the pickup by a silent LoJack transmitter, a stolen vehicle recovery system.

Talk about car stealing morons and stupid criminal tricks?
Way to go, CHP!
The worst feeling in the world is to stand in your driveway looking at the grease spots from your now stolen car, wondering who the heck is out there driving it!
(OK, maybe not THE WORST, but it's pretty bad)
Got Lojack?
I do.

I don't think it has anything to do with race it's just the fact that the crimes were committed. God bless you all...

THEY SHOULD LOCK THEM UP FOR GOOD, WHO KNOWS FOR HOW LONG THEY BEEN SCAMMING INNOCENT PEOPLE.

I agree with the above comments....race should have nothing to do with any of these crime articles.
People that bring up race in these crime articles might as well be bringing up crime statistics based on penis size...it has no merit or bearing on the crimes or potential to commit crimes. A young Hispanic male is no more "prone" to commit crimes than a young Caucasian or Black male. take a few basic sociology classes people and then you will realize the ignorance of your statements.
There are simply criminally-minded HUMANS out there and we all love to see them get captured!! Regardless of race...
And for the people that brought up race (and have now had your comments removed), might I recommend that you tune in to TruTv (formerly CourtTV) on Channel 74 on Wednesday Nights from 8pm-10pm...there is a show called "Most Shocking" that shows crimes being committed and caught on tape...watch that show, then come back here and tell us the ratio of race to race they portray on that show...in my numerous viewings, I think it would be fair to say that a typical episode shows criminals with the ethnicity being about 2:1 of Caucasian:Minority...
Interesting....

Whatever - your name fits you well. WHATEVER!! It has nothing to do with race, it's not about pointing fingers. Did we forget about the teenager in Ventura who stole a car, hit a few other cars, driving at night with no head lights, try to run over a police officer, the kid was shot and still ran? Or how about the kid in Oxnard who shot and killed another becuase he was gay? They all do it, except we live in a county where it looks like majority of population are minorities.
I am not being racist just reminding you of White folk also do.
Let's try to figure out how we can stop this instead of bashing eachother out.

Having my car stolen,Had to be one of the worst times in my life.Get this it was stolen by the previous owners, yup he had an extra key.I reported it to the police,it had lojack, and that led them straight to the garage, where my car was.Get this the mother of the little mijos, swore her sons had nothing to do with any car being stolen. That she had been home all day alone.washing clothes off and on in her garage. When the officier told her,the car had lojack, and it was indeed in her garage, and that if infact she was the only one who had been home. She was being placed under arrest. She then admitted it was indeed her son.Apparently these no brainers learn how to be Stupid from their Mother! yea for lojack and Oxpd...and ofcourse to stupid people who try to steal their once owned car that had lojack!!

I did not mean to offend, I was merely showing that for people that want to point fingers, you have to consider the source when you make judgment calls like "what race causes the most crime." I hardly think that The Star's news reports are a credible source for hard statistics...just as that "Most Shocking" show is not a credible source...at face value, both appear to show two different ethnicities in not-so-flattering lights...when in actuality the "true face" of crime has no color...humans nature has proven time and again that there will always be a criminal element to any society regardless of race, creed, or culture.
Btw...I myself am not Hispanic...so please don't try to play that card with me...in fact I like to consider myself an American...a nationality.
But I am also a human. Just like the rest of you commenting on this board. We are biologically no different...the only difference between you and I are the choices we make and the values we hold...

uncleruckus there is a large pop. of hispanics in simi, so what about places like mississippi? do u ever hear about crimes comited by hispanics there? no i dont think so. it does have alot to do with demographics. crimes are commited everywhere. every state, every county. but u cant tell me hispanics are always the ones commiting all the crimes in the world! some of the most horrific crimes i ever heard of were commited by caucasions (no offense to them) they've been known to shoot up schools and cut people up into pieces, drown there kids and most but not all serial killers ive seen on the news are caucasian. but every race commits crimes, it shouldnt be a racial issue but the fact is people make it that way. very sad.

I think everyone who is making this a race issue should do a search on the Ventura County Star on auto thefts and see what you get.
Here is a list of people who were arrested in the last 9 months:
Travis Costa-Lopez - 22, Angie Martinez - 24, Selene Bosquet - 44, Alfredo Roman Perez - 28, Jose Antonio Miranda - 27, Javier Magana - 20, Armando Rivera - 20, Emmanuel Vasquez - 20, Daniel Pahua - 18, John Lomeli - 20, Gabriel Delgado - 23, Nayeli Flores - 22, Melissa Conger - 26, Andrew Avena - 27, Ceasar Moreno - 21, Blas Rodriguez - 29, Luis Ramirez - 23, Mario Hernandez - 23, Isaac Valenzuela - 26, Albino Ramirez-Bernal - 25, Ruben Leal - 21
See there is no majority of any race.

VCSExplorer...search for the term "molestation" and see who comes up...
Why can't you guys just let this go? I don't care about race...all I care about is criminals getting caught and thrown behind bars...why cant you??

Adam_Monroe,
You just brought race, I think this was about who is stealing autos. the title "4 arrested, 3 vehicles recovered by CHP" should tell you that.
Who is talking about child molestation?
I was showing what people were stealing cars, no matter the race. Just the facts, like your real name isn't Adam Monroe.

Okay, my two cents:
I've taken sociology and psychology with a focus on sociol psychology and crime rates truly are different by race. In fact, you can go online and do some research on the government websites to see the statistics. I wish I could remember which one we used to look at the REPORTED non-violent crimes that were sorted by race of the offender but I can't.
As others have stated, you will see a higher rate of crime by a race that is a majority in an area, that's just common sense. However, there are other factors. The biggest factor is income level. It is natural that people who are living in poverty will do more desperate things to get money than those of us who have either grown up in a family that earns enough to live well or those of us (like me) who have a strong work ethic. With poverty comes depression, alcoholism and drug abuse at a higher rate than middle or upper class areas. Unfortunately the majority of those that are poverty stricken in Southern California are Hispanics and many are here illegally. They have trouble finding jobs and resort to crime to make money. That's not prejudice, it is how it is. Just as in Florida there is a higher rate of Cubans committing these types of crimes and in New Orleans, Texas and Mississippi there is a higher rate of blacks doing this. It is just life folks, facts... not prejudice or being anti pc.
The great thing about the article is that they were caught, whoever they were that did these crimes, and that will remove a few more criminals from the streets, at least for a little while. YAY!

Race shouldn't be an issue but let's face it, the majority of prison inmates are Hispanic. African American is second.
Santabarbarasand is correct. Social sciences and prison statistics say it all. It'a matter of fact.
Regardless, those that victimize need to be held accountable for violating laws. Bottom line.

I was offered Lo-Jack on a car purchase 5 years ago. I declined. Not sure what I was thinking. I will gladly add Lo-Jack to my next car purchase.
Was Selene Angie's role model? 24 and 44. She needs to choose her friends wisely. Their father's must be so proud this coming Father's Day.
