What a joke,! Now that it is election time and likely there will be a run off for John Flynn’s 5th District seat; now he wants to meet with the residents of El Rio to discuss the sewer project? I believe he is a “day late & and a dollar short.

The meeting will be more a “CYA” cover your _ _ _ “ meeting. He’ll try to collect some votes he lost in the preliminary election by mis-leading the residents of El Rio and blame everybody else the supervisor board for not getting the proper help.

So, here we go again with the “get by” supervisor running his dog & pony show, the sad thing about all this is there will be some residents that will fall for the hype and empty promises. This type of meeting should have been held several months back, if not years.

So Sad

Those are and have ALWAYS been Flynn's tactics. He has always had the preverbial "Wool" over their eyes. Their being the El Rio residents. Too bad they can't see past their nose... Sad indeed Brown and you are right, it is a CYA move on his part. I am quite sure Ms. Soledad Trevino will be around to defend him as she always does. She is his "number one" uhm, shall we just say "supporter"...

Right on with your comments guys. They hate Flynn so much that they allow him to put his election signs up wherever he wants. Get a clue people. Flynn has done so much for that community that they will always have his back. Take a look at the election numbers for that area. Overwhelming amount of votes for Flynn. The only way that El Rio will get a full sewer system, sidewalks, and lights is if they become incorporated like the surrounding cities. But since so many of them what to have their animals, they must stay unincorporated. Until they give up their horses, they will not have the opportunity to get those sewers, etc...

2smokingbarrels,
I agree wholeheartedly with your statements. It is unfortunate that for some it is easy to spout off nonsense without a true investigation of the matter. It just goes to show that many of the bloggers still do not understand the differences between county and city gov't. At least Brown and mrya_99 have Zaraqgoza to mirror that understanding, or should I say lack of.

*Election Results= Flynn 48% of the vote( worst results out of all 3 incumbants)

*People who want Flynn OUT 52% OF THE VOTE!

The numbers are doing the talking, Flynn is trying to snow the El Rio folks!

Signs? 90% of the people who had Fynn signs are not even voters!

Brown,
I'm glad you went door to door to check every constituent with a Flynn sign in El Rio was or was not a registered voter. Never say anything that you have no proof to back up. You only sound ignorant. What can't Brown do for you?

Brown,
I'm sorry your elevator only goes to the first floor, but according to your numbers, Flynn still won! The other votes were split between three, Johnny Z, Denise, and write-ins. Wait, can you hear that? The short bus just arrived to pick you up. Don't forget the helmet!

A little education to: tybaltprinceofcats & 2smokingbarrels-

tybaltprinceofcats- So you learn; all registered voters are public record, no need to go door to door, it's public record. Some free advice, try not to choke on the cat hairs.

2smokingbarrels- Ignorance in no excuse. are you a high school drop out? You probably work for Johnny Flynn. 52% is more than 48%. He's going to a run-off in November. Try comprehending this; you will know who the real winner is in November. Some free advice, don't breath the smoke out of your smoking barrels, it can cause brain cell loss, if it hasn't already!

Mrya....thats an insult to the people in el rio
john has done a lot for the community more than you think

Smith,
Your problem is that you think linearly. Yes there will be a run-off bcz he did not WIN with 50% of the vote plus 1 vote. But he still WON, Felonious. As far as smoke, somebody has apparently been blowing a little too much up your rear. But that would explain your smile.

Hey Dufus,
I mean Smith.
I am aware that voter registration is public record. I was taking poetic license when I made mention of "Brown" checking on his claim that 90% of residents in El Rio with "John Flynn" signs are not registered voters. If you could not figure that out, I have a future bridge I want to sell you right off of the 101. Wait, in order to get it Oxnard has to give up too high a prize for it. Nevermind, John Zaragoza and most of the board were willing to give up plenty to get it. Hey, on second thought, every bridge needs a troll. You would be perfect!!!! Better still run for Oxnard city council; your hero's seat just opened up. You will just be keeping it warm because when he loses to Mr. Flynn he will come crawling back.

Members of the public, take note, listed below are most likely the 4 employees JONNY FLYNN has hired to represent you in the 5th district!

Now you know why nothing gets done, just read their comments, you can imagine how intelligent they really are. 24/7 Ha! Ha!

tybaltprinceofcats,UncleRuckus, conman22000, &2smokingbarrels, keeping working hard for El Rio!

Members of the public, take note, listed below is most likely the dumbest waist of oxygen to walk the earth. His views lack the forsight and knowledge it takes to understand the compelxities of government. He makes eronious (look it up SMITH) accusations about who I, Uncle Ruckus,conman2200, & 2smokingbarrels work for. He never comments on the issues itself.
"SMITH"

Smith,
You step on your credibility too much.
Like you had any to begin with!

Your banter is sophomoric at best! Ha! Ha!

There has never been a better supervisor when it came to looking after his constituents.
John has served the citizens of Ventura county for many years and there is a reason for that. the reason? Because he hears what the citizens want.
I supported John Zaragoza when he ran for council in Oxnard. After so many years on the council i can say John has failed miserably to protect the citizens from the outrageous giveaways and sweetheart deals by other members of the council. It has cost the citizens millions of dollars. Big League Dreams is next and john keeps saying it is for the children. The children of Oxnard will never use the Big League Dreams facility built at taxpayers expense and he should know it and stop saying it. Better yet John should vote to stop BLD. I don't want to think he is part of the fraud.

Posted by SMITH on June 13, 2008 at 12:45 p.m. (Suggest removal)

fibus- In the past, I too supported John Flynn. As of today and forever on, he is totally ineffective. All the other supervisors have lost respect for him because he has been disrespectful to them. He will never get the votes from the other supervisors to help the 5th district. Who is the loser now? Not John Flynn, but the 180,000 constituents’ that he represents. Today, the Harbor, El Rio, and the other areas of the 5th district are blighted.

As for John Zaragoza, he has really turned Oxnard around; crime is down in Oxnard, while crime is up in El Rio. Downtown Oxnard is top notch, Harbor is a mess.

You along with many others are miss-informed on the how the city government operates, there is no one councilman that can vote a single project in. It takes several people from the public, city officials, planning officials, state officials, federal officials, construction bids etc. to approve any large capital projects in the City of Oxnard. Not only that, it takes the majority of the council to approve any one project. So there is absolutely no merit to what the John Flynn supporters are saying about John Zaragoza.

It really feels like John Flynn and his staff has gone to the extremes of lying to the public about developers & giveaways. This is plane & simply lies & deception.

The old tactics John Flynn used to work in the past, but are now depleting. The more lies they write the more I despise John Flynn. He has gone too many years hurting people whom disagree with him. What a shame he has to go out this way.
