FORMER BOEING PRESIDENT & TWO-TIME BALDRIGE AWARD WINNER TO SPEAK AT OXNARD WORKSHOP

Port Hueneme Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (PHD NSWC), a proud sponsor of the California Council for Excellence (CCE), is pleased to announce "Leading an Organization Using the Baldrige Criteria," a CCE Central Coast region workshop for managers and executives June 19 at Casa Sirena Hotel & Marina. The workshop will be led by Dr. David Spong, the only two-time winner of the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for two different organizations in two different sectors.

As vice president and general manager of Airlift and Tanker Programs for Boeing Military Aircraft and Missile Systems, Spong led the organization to its first Baldrige award for manufacturing in 1998. In 2003, the Boeing organization captured a second Baldrige award for service while Spong served as president of Aerospace Support for Boeing Integrated Defense Systems. Spong will share the secrets to establishing vision, inspiring action and setting guiding principles to help overcome workplace challenges and allow organizations to ascend to a higher level of excellence.

The workshop will take place from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., with lunch provided for participants. Registration is open to both CCE members and non-members; the deadline is June 16.
