The Simi Valley Soccer Club Eclipse Girls U10 team played in the Pateadores Cup in Irvine over this last weekend of July 26,27,28th. They won their first game versus Manchester United 1-0 on Saturday. Dayna Adams, usually a defensive player, scored the winning goal. They played Real SoCal Blue Sunday morning and although played with great skill, unfortunately lost. But the girls came back in their afternoon game to the home team, Pateadores, and tied 1-1. New team addition, Jensen Coop, scored the goal that put them in the championship game on Monday morning. They once again played the RealSoCal Blue and came up short in the final game. The team is one that formed just last year by coach Vincent Allegra. They had a strong first year, coming in 4th place in the entire league. This moved the team from the Bronze catagory into Silver catagory for the current 2008-2009 year. Although the team lost a couple players from the original roster, they picked up 4 amazing players that add even more skill to the team. The team is stronger than ever and played in their first ever championship game. The players range in age from 9-10 years old and are all going into either 4th or 5th grade. The players are: Dayna Adams, Frankie Allegra, Jensen Coop, Jessica Garner, Chloe Morrison, Alexis Nickerson, Ally Parmele, Erin Philen, Erin Sakamoto, Julia Sullivan, Alexa Rond, and Kylie Wimmer. They have an excellent coach in Vincent Allegra and plan to prove that they have all come a long way since their initial year.
