Camarillo woman stabbed to death in Century City

A Camarillo woman was stabbed to death in the parking garage of a Los Angeles office building Monday evening, authorities said this morning.

Pamela Goudie Fayed, 44, was found suffering from multiple stab wounds on the third level of a parking structure at 1875 Century Park East in Century City about 6:30 p.m. Monday, said Richard French, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

Fayed was transported to the UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, where she was pronounced dead at 7:14 p.m., said Los Angeles County Coroner's Capt. Ed Winter.

As of this morning, police had not arrested anyone in connection with the killing.

Witnesses said they saw a slender man leaving the scene in a red sport utility vehicle, French said. The police spokesman said he did not have any information to indicate anyone saw the fatal stabbing.

Fayed was in Century City for some kind of business appointment, French said.

A lot is missing...motives. There is always a motive behind such violent crimes. Random robbery, payback or...?

wow, how sad. It should be interesting to see how this unfolds as we learn more information.

Hey Junior... ;)

While I agree, there will be more than one saying that...just sit back and watch.

Seriously, this is sad. Only 44...probably someone's mother, wife, or even mother. I hope we get an update later today.

Ok, I'm just waiting the first person to integrate an immigration point into this one.

BTW, my condolences to the friends and family of the victim here. Horrible story...

All you pathetic people going into the "immigration" status... makes you only as hateful, discriminatory, and a sad excuse of a human being as the purple, Latin, white, black, Asian human being that did this. I mean really how strong you feel behind the computer screen typing away irrelevant comments to this situation! Are you kidding me!? Oh wait it makes you feel big and bad to sit there and "Profile" right? And how dumb are you going to feel when the Murder is caught and OMG he's White oh Wait no he or she is Red? What are you going to say then? Seriously GET A Life!

Peace and Comfort to Pamela's loved one's and my Prayers will be with you.

She leaves two children behind, and she was indeed someones mother. I hope the Police make a speedy arrest for this brutal crime. To stab mutiple times is an animal and needs to be taken off the streets ASAP.

10:56 AM PDT, July 29, 2008
Police identified the victim of a fatal stabbing of a Century City parking structure as Pamela Fayed, 45, of Ventura County.

Authorities said Fayed was at the Century City high-rise for an appointment but did not specify the nature of the meeting.

Crime scene Stabbing in parking garageOfficer Julianne Sohn of the Los Angeles Police Department said authorities are looking for a male suspect.

The attack occurred about 6:30 p.m. Monday at 1875 Century Park East, an upscale building that houses law firms, financial institutions and entertainment businesses.

The attack on the parking structure's third floor occurred in front of several witnesses who were being interviewed by detectives late Monday.

The suspect, described as a slender man in his 20s wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, fled in a red sport-utility vehicle, according to LAPD Sgt. Ruby Malachi.

The victim, who was stabbed repeatedly, screamed for help, witnesses told investigators. She was taken to a hospital, but Sohn announced about 8 p.m. that the woman had died.

Entertainment attorney Paul Almond said he was leaving his office for the day when he saw a building official run to a lobby security guard, screaming, "A woman has been stabbed!"

Almond said that a crowd began to gather and that paramedics arrived within five minutes, followed by police. Before the paramedics arrived, bystanders, including at least two doctors, came to the woman's aid, according to Capt. James West of the LAPD's West L.A. Division.

One man, witnesses said, stripped off his shirt in an apparent attempt to stanch the flow of blood. He was seen carrying a bloody shirt as he left the building.

Scores of people milled around outside for several hours, waiting for investigators to allow them to retrieve their cars.

Natalie Baker, 13, an actress, and her mother had driven from Las Vegas for a meeting with a talent agent and arrived about half an hour before the attack. They heard about it in their agent's office.

"It's chaotic and unbelievable," Natalie said.

Sohn said police believed the attack did not involve a carjacking.

ccerda, What on God's green earth are you talking about? I think what some of us posters are commenting on is the fact that there is "always" someone commenting on race or immigration, no matter the issue or story. Please go back and read the comments before making a snap judgement. We're all on the same page here.

ccerda...the posters here were actually joking about another poster who routinely rants about immigration status, etc.

They certainly were not making that an issue of their posts here.

This is very, very tragic. God bless the people who tried to help this lady and again, my condolences to her family.

wow I hope is was not the husband. Poor girls, I feel sorry for them

Posted by darias on July 29, 2008 at 12:39 p.m. (Suggest removal)

First off, my prayers go out to the family and friends for this tragic loss.

My wife works at the same building and parks on the same level of that parking structure and leaves at the same time, so I am very grateful that she had a feeling to travel to Irvine for work. I don't know what would have happened.

But thinking about who did the crime made me realize what type of structure the parking area is. I have been to the building more than once and even recently about two weeks ago. As far as I know I didn't see any kind of cameras within the facility. What I have heard from different reports is that the suspect left the parking garage in a red SUV.

Well in order to leave the garage either two things have to happen. 1) He payed to get in and park so he must have passed someone to works at the parking structure 2) If he didn't pay, the only other way he would have access into the parking structure is if he had some key card to get in. This gives me some sense that the suspect is no random person and had maybe planned this. It is very possible it could have been some stupid random guy trying to mug the woman, but why go through all the trouble of getting in a parking structure where you would have to pay to get in and run the risk of someone seeing who you are. It has to be someone that the woman knows.

One question I have is was she working there at the building or was she there for business?

I live up off of Cerro Vista, gonna leave it @ that. She leaves behind an 18 year daughter and an 8 (approx 8- not positive)year old daughter.

Looks like she's in the midst of a divorce in Ventura County - husband's attorney's office is next door to the parking structure

Posted by lindalevi on July 29, 2008 at 1:03 p.m. (Suggest removal)

I live a few blocks from Century City and my gym is across the street from the Watts building. Just a theory-this didn't seem like a random stabbing. He had a car and just left. It was a parking structure and videos showed a ticket booth going out. Someone taking his ticket must have seen him. The descriptions were pretty accurate, a red SUV, but no partial license plate? No "color" for suspect. Security Cameras? Now that I know there's a husband and a divorce. Who would be surprised if the husband were involved or someone he hired!

Posted by darias on July 29, 2008 at 1:06 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Well thinking about all the possibilities, I know the LA times said that her husband was seeking a divorce from the woman and together they owned some kind of internet gold trading company.

The first suspect I would have would be the husband which others have already said that he may have been taken into custody. The husband could have possible reasons for, hate to say this, hiring someone to "take care of her." And like I said before there are only two ways of leaving that structure, either paying to get out or using a key card to open the gate. Either way there has to be some witness that saw the man's facial features.

Another possible reason the woman may have gone there was, and going entirely on speculation and in no way am I looking to make the woman look bad, was that she may have been seeing someone at the time as well. But that seems unlikely and would be placed at the bottom of my list for reasons.

Thinking in terms of cameras, I have been through the lobby before and I think there may have been cameras set up with an OK view of the garage. Someone had to have seen the suspect and had some idea of what the car's license plate is.

Posted by darias on July 29, 2008 at 1:20 p.m. (Suggest removal)

I said it and knowing Bruce and Anthony and Mandy, I am only speculating on who it may be I am not saying he's the guy! It is merely just speculation guys. Anyway, it could be the husband it could not be the husband, if it was it would seem that it was not such a smart thing to do.

Posted by hotwildflower on July 29, 2008 at 1:28 p.m. (Suggest removal)

None of us know any more than what the paper had printed with the exception of some who were able to gather additional information by researching on their own elsewhere.

Lack of information leads to speculation.

Posted by darias on July 29, 2008 at 1:33 p.m. (Suggest removal)

I make these assumptions and speculations only on what I have from experience with that area and with the information that has been given. I have NOT said that anyone is guilty. I have just assumed things and thats all. I just want the man caught for this act!

Posted by hotwildflower on July 29, 2008 at 1:36 p.m. (Suggest removal)

I agree! I hope this person is caught ASAP, no one deserves this. I just think everyone knows when someone is married and murdered, the 1st place they look is at the spouse, rule them out and move on...who actually did this...I have no idea but I am sure the police are working diligently to find them.

Posted by Ms_California on July 29, 2008 at 1:54 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Murder for hire? anyone anyone... big time internet gold trader who recently filed for divorce. Smells a bit funny to me. Not to mention he would have access to her schedule, whereabouts and access to the garage with a card key etc.

Posted by darias on July 29, 2008 at 2:06 p.m. (Suggest removal)

We have said that already, that's what makes it so obvious. I am just thinking in terms of the husband that it might not be such a smart idea if he did murder for hire. Everything seems to trace back to him, which makes it so obvious, but at the same there has to be solid evidence linking him to crime. But I have other speculations that I would rather not say...

That's the thing though, we are not sure whether or not the man entered the place with a key or payed an attendant.

The LA times offers quite a bit of information, but of course, as with all stories, we will never know the whole truth - only what sells news.

With that said, this is a horrific tragedy that has left two daughters without their mother. If indeed the husband had something to do with this, we will soon find out. There is definitely lots more to this story.

My thoughts and prayers to her family.

There are alot of good and bad points mentioned in this post, then some real duzzies. This is a terrible tragedy and we will just have to see what happens. I have a good feeling, who ever did this will be caught. Lets just hope so.

in regard to where he parked the red SUV...

i work in the bldg that it happened in. i find it troubling that if he was parked inside our structure, that our security was so lacking that they allowed any car in or out after the crime was discovered.

However, there is another way he could have parked. There is a flat rate outdoor parking lot directly behind our building and a few feet from the parking structure. It is possible he parked there b/c he would have paid in advance and had the ability to leave without going through a gate or some sort of check-out process.

He could have walked into the structure. Our parking structure is accessible by any pedestrian walking in from the street. In fact, when I used to work at another building, I would cut through this structure to go to Starbucks.

PS - a coworker of mine was leaving right when a person ran downstairs to the security office to tell them a woman had been stabbed. He said it took a few minutes before they actually called 911 b/c security didnt believe it. retards.
