Six people arrested in thefts from vehicles

Six Newbury Park residents were arrested over the past two months in connection with thefts from vehicles in the area, authorities said.
Newbury Park had an increase in thefts of purses, wallets, GPS systems, laptop computers, MP3 players and cell phones from vehicles in June and July, Thousand Oaks police said.
The crimes occurred in residential areas from midnight to 4 a.m. Many of the targeted vehicles were left unlocked or with valuables in plain view, authorities said.
Tyler O'Green, 18, and four juveniles ages 12 to 16 were arrested on suspicion of burglaries from vehicles, authorities said.
Kathleen Dedrud, 35, was arrested on suspicion of using a credit card that was stolen in one of the burglaries.

highriseray1, I take that as a personnal insult. you automaticaly say just because they have a name that SOUNDS like, in your words "white boys" that they can't be illegal's. O'Green and dedrud sound like Irish and eastern European to me and we all know how much crime here is commited by those groups.....:)

To answer your Nintendo DS question; try the 'barter' or 'wanted' section on Craigslist. Times are tough right now and people are realizing that some of their luxury items are not needed. Just last week I was on there and scored an xbox360. Some kid couldn't keep up with gas prices so was looking for a bike. I just happened to have one that he liked.

The same thing is happening in Camarillo right now. It is so easy to forget to lock your car doors after bringing in groceries and kids. It happened to us 2 years ago and now it happened to our neighbors last week. Report all crimes even if the cops give you crap for leaving a car door open.

We should have the Star run this article in three different versions like they do with the other crime articles related to Oxnard crimes....maybe repeating three versions of the same Oxnard crime story is making it "seem" like Oxnard has more crime than other cities. Star, please revise this article slightly, change the headline slightly and re-run this tomorrow...we gotta even out the playing field.

true...the blame is partly on the victims in this case, but again...it's called a crime for a reason. Going into a car that's not yours and taking something is still theft. I've walked by cars that are open and didn't steal anything. Common sense by people can deter theft, but not prevent it.

From the Acorn article it sounded like these were just bored middle class kids. You can always count on someone in these forums to start up an anti-illegal immigrant rant no matter what the original article subject.
In any case, maybe the moral of this story is for people to lock their cars, or heaven forbid park them in their garages. That is what a garage is for, not storing junk. I would say that about 5% of the people in our neighborhood park their cars in their garage.

lhernandez and highriseray-- The point is that ANYONE can be an illegal alien. You seem to think that some people with certain Irish-sounding names should be immune and we should only check out the immigration status of certain people. Now THAT is a racist view. Are you saying that only people with certain types of names might be illegal?
Check the immigration status of EVERYONE that comes into the justice system by way of arrest and make sure we are stuck (if they are a citizen) with the lowlife that they are. If they are illegal, ship them back off to Dublin, Paris, Toronto, Tijuana, or wherever it is that they came from!

Tyler is not irish, hispanic, black, indian, asian, or any other ethnicity he is white.
As you all sit here confined in your houses reading about this news at the safety of your computer i'm out there watching it happen.
Just because someone commits a crime doesnt mean there a bad person it could mean anything..in this case getting mixed up with the wrong people. and because he happens to be the only 18 year old they arrested he gets burneed.
This article along with all the others has extremely false information, i know all of the information and charges that they recieved, and i also know tyler did not commit most of what is being said.
i find it disgusting that you all can sit at your computers and comment on these articles so negatively, when not one person who has left a comment knows any true information, and the one person who left a comment worth reading got it deleted because the star doesnt want there name smeared.

When people write racist views they are absolutely JERK-OFF's....now, it would be AWFUL if I said that all white people are jerk-off's based on what ignorant comments some white people wrote in this thread..... That would be an example of judging an entire race by the bad seeds....INSTEAD I refered to these particular white people as jerk-off's....
