Casa Pacifica children to tour Camarillo airport

Members of Experimental Aircraft Association, Camarillo Chapter 723, will conduct a tour Tuesday for foster youths from Casa Pacifica, focusing on the aviation operations and facilities at the Camarillo Airport.

The all-day event will include tours of the airport control tower, the Commemorative Air Force's Warbird Museum, and Channel Islands Aviation's hangar and flight training facility. Local teens who have attended the EAA Air Academy in Oshkosh, Wis., will outline the programs offered by the association.

Chapter members conducting the tour will explain how local owners build or restore their own planes in the chapter's two hangars, and visit the chapter's library and flight simulator.

EAA Chapter 723 derives funds for its programs from membership dues and gate receipts from its annual Air Expo event. This year's Air Expo event will be Aug. 15-16 at the Camarillo Airport.

Nice to see this effort by a great bunch of guys... The kids should really benefit.

I believe that the main dates for the Camarillo Air Expo are Saturday and Sunday, August 16th & 17. It's a great way to spend a day. See www.camarilloairshow.org
