Karen, Stan, and Sue, recreation coordinators at the Simi Valley Senior Center have planned some great excursions and programs for local seniors.

More from Simi ValleySeniors can plan on having a great time with their friends or meet new friends at the activities planned for the next few months. Programs are held at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi, Simi Valley, unless otherwise noted. MEXICAN RIVIERA CRUISE: Visit Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas while sailing on the beautiful Carnival Pride for eight days and seven nights, November 30 through December 7, 2008. The price includes the cruise, port charges and taxes, round trip motorcoach transportation to Long Beach, baggage handling and tip for driver for only $641.00 per person double occupancy with an inside cabin, $741.00 per person double occupancy for an outside cabin. The deadline for reservations and deposit of $250.00 is July 28, but call after that date for availability. "ON LOCATION" WALKING TOUR OF CORRIGANVILLE PARK: Enjoy reliving the memories of the great old-time western movies. See where more than 400 movies and TV shows were filmed. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots. The tour is scheduled for Saturday, August 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Registration fee is $5.
SCRAPBOOKING CLUB: Create beautiful scrapbooks in a fun atmosphere. Bring boxes of photos to organize or to create photo pages and share your ideas with others. The class is ongoing on Mondays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., September 8 to December 29 or Thursdays, September 4 to December 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The registration fee is $5 for the session. Some supplies are provided.
UNDERSTANDING YOURSELF & OTHERS: Why do you get along with some people, while others drive you crazy? In this fun and enlightening class, you will take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, discover your personality type and learn to use this knowledge to enhance all aspects of your life. Classes are on seven Fridays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. September 5 to October 17. The registration fee of $24 is due at the first class and a lab fee of $15.00.
