Elks Rode for Guides

The Simi Valley Elks #2492 rode for Guide Dogs of America on Sunday May 18th. Aproximately 25 Simi Elks rode under record breaking heat with a record number of riders, nearly 650 on more than 400 motorcycles. This was the 5th Annual Ride for Guides that broke all records for that event. Along the 100 mile round trip route puppies-in-training and GDA volunteers, as well as several GDA graduates greeted the riders. At the end of the ride was a delicious BBQ lunch served at the Sylmar Guide Dogs of America location plus lucky winners of raffle prizes.

John Kozub, a Simi Valley Elk, and his wife Mary Lou are puppy raisers. Wissel, graduating class #357 was one of their pups. Guide Dogs of America are located in Sylmar, CA.
