Cyclist, motorcyclist injured in collision

A bicyclist and a motorcyclist were injured in a weekend crash outside Camarillo, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Bill White, 42, of Simi Valley was riding his bicycle south on Bradley Road near Greentree Drive with a group of cyclists about 9:20 a.m. Sunday when Kevin Minster, 41, of Camarillo approached from behind on a motorcycle, the CHP reported.

Minster was trying to pass the group at high speed when White moved to his left and Minster struck him from behind, according to a preliminary CHP investigation. Two witnesses told investigators White moved into the opposing traffic lane at the same time Minster tried to pass in that lane, said Officer Mike Untalan at the Ventura CHP office.

Minster suffered multiple pelvic fractures, the CHP reported, and was taken to St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.

White suffered abrasions and a broken ankle and finger and was taken to St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital, the CHP said.

I hope for a quick recovery from both of them!

Bradley is a dangerous road (I go down it nearly every day) because for a large portion of the road there is a large fall into a ditch. In addition the road is slightly smaller then most of our roads. This leaves little room to move over even for a motorcyclist.

Please be careful everyone!
