Call to Artists - Simi Town Center's 'Featured Artist' Competition

More from MoorparkSimi Valley Town Center invites Southern California artists to compete for selection as a Monthly Calendar featured artist.
More than 12,000 Simi Valley Town Center Calendars are distributed to Simi Valley and Moorpark households as well as on site at the Town Center each month.
The Calendar is glossy, full color and the primary collateral used to highlight all Simi Valley Town Center events including a monthly Fine Art Show and Sale.
Artwork selected will be featured in the interior of the Calendar, and the name of the artist will be recognized on the front cover as well.
What to Submit:
- Up to 10-color .jpeg images of your work on a compact disc.
- Save each .jpeg as a number, 1-10 (300 dpi minimum). Artist must have all rights to reproduce these entries that must also be available to exhibit during the featured month.
- Numbered description sheet with title, date, media and size of each image.
- Current resume (three pages maximum) with your name, address, phone and email address.
- Self-addressed stamped envelope required if you want materials returned.
Selection Criteria:
Submissions will be evaluated according to:
- Appropriateness to a public venue;
- Artistic quality of work;
- Reproducibility;
- and General public appeal.
A community panel including artists and Town Center merchants will review all applicants in mid-August and make a selection for featured artist for September 2008, October 2008, November 2008, December 2008, January 2009 and February 2009.
Applicants will be notified of the panel's decision by email, or by mail if an email is not available.
Application materials will not be returned unless a self-addressed stamped envelope is included.
Deadline: Materials, hand delivered or mailed, must arrive by 5 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2008.

Eligibility: Open to all artists in Southern California in Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Riverside, San Diego and Imperial counties, in all visual art media.
