Morning Report: 6-foot waves expected on county coast

Weather: A coastal flood statement is in place for the county coastline, where waves up to six feet are expected this morning, the National Weather Service reported.
The larger than normal swells are expected to increase the risk of rip currents. Anyone caught in a rip current should swim parallel to the shore until free of the current, according to the weather service.
The statement is scheduled to last through Tuesday morning.
Mostly sunny conditions are expected in most of the county today after morning low clouds and fog.
High temperatures in the 60s are expected at beaches. Temperatures in the mid 90s are predicted for valleys.
There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon in local mountains.

Traffic: At 7:04 a.m., an ambulance was responding to a traffic collision on the Pacific Coast Highway just south of Mugu Rock near Naval Base Ventura County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:58 a.m., the CHP was reporting a traffic collision on Pleasant Valley Road at Dodge Road outside Oxnard.
Three vehicles were blocking traffic when the crash was initially reported at 5:48 a.m.
The CHP this morning was also reporting a dog in lanes of Highway 118 eastbound at Stearns Street in Simi Valley.

Police and Fire: Tools were stolen last night from the beds of two trucks in Agoura Hills, police said.
Deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's Lost Hills Station this morning were investigating the burglaries, which occurred sometime overnight near the intersection of Canwood Street and Reyes Adobe Road.
The stolen tools had been left in plain view, police said.
