The New West Symphony's children's youth programs will be the beneficiaries of Symphony of Wine VIII, a wine, dinner and auction gala set for the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village on Sept. 21.
The dinner will feature gourmet food prepared by the Four Seasons executive chef and other chefs from around the country.
The live and silent auctions will include wines, tickets for Yosemite's Bracebridge Dinner with an Ahwahnee Hotel stay, a private tour of Hearst Castle with lunch and accommodations, a seven-night deluxe Caribbean Sports package, and a week in Paris for four with lunch and tour by the Drouhin family in Burgundy.
Wine lots include a new Symphony of Wine VIII Cuvee bottled especially for the event along with several large format bottles — all with custom-designed signature labels. Auction donations so far include signature wines and tastings from Joseph Phelps, Rudd, Jaffe and Justin, plus wines from Bernardus, Foxen and Silver Oak, a Stephen Ross Adopt-a-Barrel program and other fine and rare wines.
The event, which begins at 3 p.m., has raised more than $1 million to date for youth programs of the New West Symphony, the resident orchestra at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, the Countrywide Performing Arts Center at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza and Barnum Hall in Santa Monica.
