Fair adds Fillmore band to entertainment lineup

More from County NewsHermanos Herrera, a Fillmore band that has gained national attention, has been added to the entertainment lineup of the Ventura County Fair.
The band will appear Aug. 3 as part of the fair's Dia de la Familia entertainment, opening for Los Tigres del Norte. The fair runs July 30-Aug. 10 in Ventura.
Hermanos Herrera — five brothers and their younger sister — performs a variety of traditional Mexican musical genres, including son huasteco, son jarocho and norteño. The group has appeared on national television programs.

These are very talented young people. Their music is great except for the contemporary Norteño. Wish you guys would play the Norteño of the 40s and 50s. This contemporary stuff is just ... well ... too over-powering. It gives me a headache. But I love your Huasteco.
