"The Price," Arthur Miller's dynamic and often humorous play of two estranged brothers, is coming to Ojai Art Center Theater after a successful run at the Elite Theatre Company (ETC) in Oxnard.

Only two performances -- on July 25 and 27 -- are scheduled at Ojai ACT, so reservations should be made soon by calling the box office, 640-8797, or logging on to www.OjaiACT.org.

"The Price" is a powerful and deeply moving play about the price people pay for their choices in life, and it marked the author's triumphant return to Broadway in 1968.

The play examines the difficult relationship of two long-estranged brothers (Tom Eubanks and Howard Leader) who meet after many years to dispose of their late father's belongings. The drama unfolds with compassion and insight and is intensified by the inclusion of a brother's wife (Linda Schaver), who has her own ideas about what should be done.

The story is bolstered by a crotchety but wise and humorous old Jewish dealer (Steve Grumette) who comes to buy the furniture and refuses to set a price without prolonged philosophical banter.

This special presentation is courtesy of the ETC and includes two Ojai residents in the cast, Eubanks and Grumette. It is directed by Lorraine McDonald. The performance on Friday, July 25 is at 8 p.m. and the Sunday, July 27 show is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors, students and Art Center members. Ojai ACT is located at 113 S. Montgomery St.
