Library Offers Live Online Homework Help
The Thousand Oaks Library is offering every patron with a Thousand Oaks Library card online access to expert tutors through the HelpNow program from Brainfuse, Inc. one of the nation's leading providers of online tutoring services.
Students in grades 3 through 12, as well as those taking introductory college courses, can access www.toaks.org/library from home, school or in the Thousand Oaks Library to connect one-to-one to a trained tutor for academic assistance in math, science, English, and social studies.
The Grant R. Brimhall Library and the Newbury Park Branch Library, both offer HelpNow. Any Thousand Oaks Library cardholder can access HelpNow, seven days a week from 1:00 PM - 10:00 p.m. and connect for a one-to-one session with a tutor. Spanish speaking tutors are also available.
HelpNow provides library patrons with live, on-demand homework help, state-aligned skills building lessons from expert tutors, and a 24-hour writing lab. With HelpNow, tutors and students communicate in real time by typing, drawing, and marking-up lessons/web content. In addition, students may use HelpNow's secure file sharing feature to submit their papers to trained writing instructors any time of the day. All HelpNow tutors possess four-year college degrees, must undergo a rigorous selection and training process, and must complete a full background and security check.
