On a warm and sunny afternoon over 600 guests attended the 4th Annual Rebozo Festival which was held in May at the Camarillo Ranch, in Camarillo, CA. Inlakech Cultural Arts Center was awarded $25,000 for its youth programs on Sunday, June 29, 2008 by Las Madrinas.Inlakech (which means you are my other self) has provided thousands of Ventura County Youth with an opportunity to learn about their culture and express creative talents through cultural education, dance, music, art and theatre. Las Madrinas also made contributions to the United Womens Leadership Council and the California Association of Bilingual Educators (CABE) scholarship fund.Las Madrinas, the organizing committee, would like to thank all of the supporters, volunteers and sponsors who contributed to making this years event the most successful to date.Special thanks to Oxnard Harvest Co. FLC, Title Sponsor, with whose support the committee exceeded its goals. Additionally, thanks to the other major sponsors: the Camarillo Ranch Foundation, Lazer Broadcasting, Ventura County Star & Fronteras, VIDA Newspaper, Banco BuenaVentura and Clinicals del Camino Real, Inc.The purpose of the Rebozo Festival is to provide funds for local non-profit organizations and to provide an avenue to learn about the Latino culture.
