Gap wildfire is now 90 percent contained
The Gap fire was declared 90 percent contained Sunday evening, with full containment expected by Wednesday.
The cost of the fire, estimated at $18.4 million Sunday morning, rose to $19.8 million by the close of the day.
The 9,443-acre wildland fire that began July 1 north of Goleta in Los Padres National Forest destroyed four outbuildings but no homes.
A mandatory evacuation remained in effect for West Camino Cielo west of the Windermere Ranch. All other area evacuations have been downgraded to warnings or lifted.
On Sunday evening, evacuation warnings were in effect for West Camino Cielo, the Kinevan Road area, Windermere Ranch, Haney Tract, Hidden Valley and Trout Club.
All national forest lands south of Highway 154 and East Camino Cielo between Gibraltar Road and Refugio Road are closed to the public.
