Window coatings can channel energy
Massachusetts Institute of Technology researchers have developed a system that turns windows into a solar collector, still letting people see clearly. A coating channels photons of light to a solar collector around the edge of the window, MIT colleagues report in today's edition of the journal Science. The coating absorbs incoming light, then re-emits the energy into the glass, which conducts it to solar cells. — The Associated Press
