Triple-digit temperatures could complicated week-old battle against fire near Goleta

Gap Fire
Authorities are bracing for a heat wave today, one that will make fighting the week-old Gap fire near Goleta a lot harder.
Triple-digit temperatures are expected for the inland areas of Santa Barbara County as well as Ventura County.
The Gap fire has burned more than 9,600 acres since it started July 1. It was 35 percent contained late Monday.
Police and Fire in Ventura County:
Nothing new to report overnight.

Traffic: At 6:35 a.m., the California Highway Patrol was not reporting any traffic accidents or hazards on county roadways.

Weather: Patchy dense fog before 11 a.m. much of the Ventura County coast. A high near 69 is expected today along the coast.
Inland temperatures are expected to reach into the triple-digits today, with a high around 105. The day's highs should remain above 100 through Thursday. People are cautioned to stay out of the sun and drink plenty of fluids.
