Fliers touting schools miff other districts

More from Education: K-12One Central Valley school system has stirred the ire of neighboring districts by sending out promotional fliers to lure students away from other Fresno-area schools.
The Clovis Unified School District has mailed thousands of fliers in recent months touting the district as "private school education for a public school price."
The flier reminds parents of a state law that allows students to attend school in districts outside their home districts if their workplace is in the district.
Spokeswoman Kelly Avants says the district began sending the fliers after Clovis Unified saw enrollment drop for the first time in its 47-year history last fall.
Sanger Unified School District Superintendent Marc Johnson called the fliers "disconcerting" and said other superintendents were also unhappy about the campaign.
