Church will screen Meet the Robinsons'

St. Paul Lutheran Church of Agoura will present "Meet the Robinsons" on Friday.

The G-rated movie will be offered free on a big outdoor screen. Attendees can bring chairs and blankets.

Food from a local restaurant will be available for a nominal charge starting at 7 p.m. Popcorn, candy and drinks are free. Outside food is OK, but no alcohol.

The movie and raffle will start at 8 p.m.

CAMARILLO

Jesus and his critics to be topic of class

Jesus and his critics is a new class by two key leaders of Camarillo United Methodist Church to be held at 7 p.m. July 14 and 21 in Howald Parlor at the church.

The Rev. Dr. Jim Decker-Mahin, senior pastor, and Dr. Bill Garlington, youth and adult ministries coordinator, will discuss such questions as, "What was so bothersome to some about the Sermon on the Mount?" and "What roles have Judas, Caiaphas, and Pilate been assigned by Christian theologians?"

The class is open to the public free of charge.

MOORPARK

Vacation Bible Sundays offered

Moorpark Evangelical Free Church is offering vacation Bible Sundays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. through Aug. 31 at Arroyo Vista Recreation Center.

This year's Power Lab will involve Bible stories of God's power, music, crafts, games and snacks, all with a science theme. All children in fifth grade or younger are welcome to attend.

THOUSAND OAKS

Christ lecture series will begin July 12

Meet the Real Jesus Christ is the theme of a three-week lecture series at Thousand Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church. "One War — Many Battles" will be the topic for July 12 at 7 p.m.

Lectures will continue at 7 p.m. each evening except Mondays and Thursdays through Aug. 2. Admission and study materials are free. A children's program for ages 4-11 also will be offered.

The speaker, Jim Ayars, is completing a doctorate in systematic theology at Trinity Theological Seminary. He is pastor at Ventura Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Bible School to have a rain forest theme

Ascension Lutheran Church is offering the Rainforest Adventure Vacation Bible School from 8:30 a.m. to noon July 14-18 at 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive.

Participants will hear stories about Jesus, make crafts, learn rainforest tunes, play games and more. Each day offers a new Bible story to explore through activities.
