Pleasant Valley district names 2 new principals

More from CamarilloThe Pleasant Valley School District in Camarillo has announced that two new principals will help lead middle schools in the fall.
Joe Herzog, assistant principal at Las Colinas Middle School, will take over as principal at Monte Vista Middle School, and Monte Vista teacher Veronica Ortega will take Herzog's job at Las Colinas.
Superintendent Luis Villegas said he was pleased to see two current employees step up and take on new leadership roles in the K-8 district.
Herzog has been assistant principal at Las Colinas for the past three years. Before coming to Pleasant Valley, he was the dean of students at Medea Creek Middle School in Oak Park.
Ortega started in Pleasant Valley schools as a student in the second grade. She has taught language arts at Monte Vista since 2004, and this past year, she was selected for a state committee that reviews seventh-grade writing assignments.
