Councilman breaks several bones in fall
Port Hueneme City Councilman Murray Rosenbluth is recovering from several broken bones in a Portland, Ore., care facility after being injured in a fall, City Manager David Norman said Thursday.
Rosenbluth, 77, who was in Portland with his wife on a weekend trip, fell while leaving a restaurant June 27.
The councilman fractured his right elbow and right hip, and he injured the rotator cuff in his right shoulder, Norman said.
Rosenbluth is expected to remain in the care facility for two weeks.
Norman, who spoke with the councilman Thursday, said Rosenbluth was alert and sounded good.
A longtime member of the council, Rosenbluth announced last month that he is retiring when his term ends this year.
"We wish him a speedy recovery and a return to Port Hueneme as soon as possible," Norman said.

Start prcticing shaking hands with your left hand. Thankfully, your vocal cords were not injured in the fall. Work hard on your physical therapy, and we will enjoy many more years of your bluster.
