Summerfest all breed dog show in ventura
A United Nations of dogs is gathering in Ventura. Organizers of the annual Summerfest All Breed Dog show really do mean "all": Yorkshire terriers, French bulldogs, German shepherds, Italian greyhounds, Alaskan malamutes, Weimaraners, Finnish spitzes, Tibetan mastiffs, Chihuahuas and Welsh corgis, to name some of the breeds that will be judged.
These paw princes and princesses, freshly shampooed and trimmed, will compete for doggy laurels — best in show, best in breed and a pack of other prizes — at the show, to be presented by the Ventura County Dog Fanciers Association, Channel City Kennel Club and Santa Maria Kennel Club today through Sunday at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
The public is welcome to attend the event and watch the dogs strut around the rings to show off their canine eminence or obedience skills.
The show will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day at 10 W. Harbor Blvd. Admission is free; parking costs extra. For more information, call 648-3376.
