July is Jumpin' at Ventura College through Community Education

July is jumping with exciting new classes provided by Ventura College Community Education.

Professional handyman Fred Trippler offers practical, moneysaving tips in "Basic Home Repairs" on Saturday, July 12 from 9:00 am -- noon. Anyone who lives in a house, condo or apartment will certainly enjoy this new class. The class fee is $49.00.

If you prefer flowers to pliers, consider "Orchids for Beginners," also on Saturday, July 12 from 9:00 am -- Noon, with a class fee of $49.00. This workshop will be taught by Penny Harvey of the Ventura County Orchid Society, who will show you how to select and care for these beautiful, exotic plants to exhibit throughout your home or office.

"Hop Aboard the Internet" is designed for new internet users who want to learn how to access information, shop and use email in a safe, responsible manner. Gail Eisenberg, who specializes in teaching technology to older adults, will facilitate the class from 9:00 -- noon on Saturday, July 26, with a class fee of $49.00

Niko Padelidis will teach "It's Greek to Me! Beginning Conversational Greek" for 5 Saturday mornings beginning July 19 from noon -- 1:45 pm. If you're planning a trip to Greece for business or pleasure, you won't want to miss this class. The fee is $89.00.

Baby boomers and others with rock and roll in their blood are invited to dust off their old guitars and join Steven Sunnarborg for "It's Only Rock n Roll -- but I Like It" on six Tuesdays, beginning July 15 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. The fee for this class is $89.00.

Sunnarborg will also teach the "Summer Songwriting Workshop" on two Wednesdays beginning July 23 from 7:00 -- 10:00 pm. If you've ever wanted to write your own tune or lyrics, this class is for you. The class fee is $59.00.
