Woman drowns in her hot tub
A Thousand Oaks woman drowned accidentally this weekend in a hot tub at her home, authorities said.
Sheriff's deputies responded about 7:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of a woman not breathing in a hot tub in the 3100 block of Sunset Hills Boulevard, said Capt. Ross Bonfiglio, spokesman for the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
Kimberly Magers, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene a few minutes later, Chief Deputy Ventura County Medical Examiner James Baroni said.
The Medical Examiner's Office later determined Magers drowned accidentally, Baroni said.

This is awful - How did this happen? Was she alone? Lots of details left out of this article considering they already named her. I wonder if alcohol was involved...........

I knew this woman and her family – no alcohol was involved – autopsy confirmed this, it was purely a tragic accident – please don’t cast aspersions…bottom line here is 2 young children are left without a mother, a husband without a wife and many grieving friends and relatives…R.I.P. Kim

friendofkimm - What happened though? Did she perhaps fall asleep? I dont mean to make assumptions, my apologies, I just dont understand how someone can just drown while completley awake? That is why I mentioned either alcohol or sleepiness. My prayers to these two children and husband.

Oh, my heart aches for her family; especially her sons. To be so young and left without their mom.
My most sincere condolences to Kimberly's family and friends.
RIP Kimberly Mager.

Hueneme girl... there are so many factors that could have caused her death. It could have been heat induced, slip and fall, sleep etc. I know many times when I have been in our hot tub that u get a bit dizzy from the heat or sitting in it too long. You can actually damage your organs if it is too hot or you get heat exhaustion.
I saw her obit today and thought to myself that she was very young to have died. It did mention that she has two very small sons. This is tragedy and my thoughts are with the family.

Ms_California, thank you. There are many factors that I did not consider, I too, have gotten that "dizzy" feeling. Tragic accident. Apologies if anyone took what I said or my questions as disrespect.

Dang this family must have some pretty good connections to get autopsy results so quick. This is very very sad, they have all kinds of warnings about heat, it was just a few weeks ago myself, when I had to force myself to get out of the spa, I was feeling so sleepy, I just wanted to close my eyes.

I sure hope the police have not stopped investigating. I just watched a cold case show about a man that drown two wives before the police reopened the first case & sure enough, he was convicted of both wives murders. Healthy 35 year old woman with clean toxicology don't just drown alone in hot tubs. Was this a hot tub w/lid?

62vette,
The law enforcement is too busy investigating the rock that fell into a sunroof of a car, and hit a women in the head that is expected to FULLY RECOVER. The victim and her Uncle are connected in the non-civilian sector, so you see, that case takes precedence.

Stop watching television shows and think they represent reality, 62 vette. Even the real reality shows don't let facts get in the way of a good tale.
