Ventura activists Attend 'Honor America / Secure Our Border' Event
Last Saturday, June 28 in the Valencias Civic Center a patriotic event was held. Several people carrying America Flags and placards were at Santa Clarita Civic Center. Frank Jorges Antelope Valley Independent Minute Men http://www.avimm.com sponsored this Honor America and Secure Our Borders event. A Ventura county activist group went to this event. Theis Ventura contingent are locally active in these anti-illegal alien immigration matters by trying to close down the Thousand Oaks and Ojai Day Laborer Centers in heavily residential neighborhoods. And ventura activists have been sidewalk protesting Simi's Church of Christ on Royal Ave that is housing a twice deported illegal alien woman, Lilianna, from ICE federal immigration officials.
This Santa Clarita Civic Center anti-illegal alien immigration event was to raise defense funds for the wrongly imprisoned U.S. Border Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean who are in Federal prison for shooting at and wounding an illegal alien drug dealer crossing the border one night.
Unfortunately, the rally event was rather sparsely attended maybe due to the horrible timing of Caltrans Interstate 5 North freeways drastic lane reduction that created a huge traffic jam for those traveling to the occasion from the San Fernando Valley. I estimated the vocal enthusiastic audience to be a generous 60 person audience. There was a huge amount of American patriotic spirit in the approach of America's 232nd birthday. Several protest sign holding persons and a colorful Uncle Sam was on the sidewalks to notify others of the rally occurring. Mr. Ray Herrera and other anti-illegal alien immigration leaders were present. A couple of notable anti-illegal alien immigration leaders did not attend. Minuteman Projects Jim Gilchrist http://www.minutemenproject.com and Sam SzinWestLA Zilsman (sp?) popular Your Tube anti-illegal alien immigration video maker was missing this patriotic occasion.
There were several dynamic event public speakers for the days speech program. Frank Jorge (who nationally appeared in Spurlocks 30 days TV program where Cuban immigrant Mr. Jorge lived with a anonymous Los Angeles illegal alien family) gave his usual wonderful exciting comments about his personal experiences fending off violent opponents during local high desert anti-illegal alien protests. In honor of the recent Supreme Court decision to re-affirm the Citizens 2nd Amendment Gun Rights, Trish Lester a local songwriter and performer,
www.trishlester.com sang her wonderful song to the assembled listening crowd called "My Smith and Wesson 38". Save Our States Regional Director, Don Oldpreach Silva, luckily did not speak publicly, but manned a voter registration booth at this event. New voter registration will be essential in the coming elections. Ventura county activist contingent recognised a few other familiar activist faces in the listening crowd.
The most memorable and meaningful addresses were from the Ramos family. The Ramos family spoke to the crowd about their miserable legal matters coping with Ignacio Nacho Ramos harsh incarceration and very questionable lower court conviction. His case is on appeal and he has already served in solitary confinement for many months. All similar appealing cases are allowed to be out of prison during the legal process. This is not the case with Ramos and Campean. While imprisoned in Mississippi, five Hispanic inmates beat up Mr. Ramos for his being a border patrol agent. Most of the speeches were inspiring and enthusiastically received. After talking to many attendees after the event, the only exception mentioned to me was the dubious speech delivered from Save Our States Mass Media Director, Ms. Chelene Nightengale. Upstaging all there wearing bright scarlet red outfit, Palmdales Ms. Nightengale used this dignified public gathering to give the shocked audience an ear piercing speech about child abuse. What that had to do with Ramos and Campeans judicial matters, I could not tell you. Ventura county activist's contingent was even more as puzzled.
All in all, this event was very well produced by the AVIMM group and easily highlighted to the Ventura County and Valencia Santa Clarita valley citizenry the many increasing problems connected with illegal alien immigration already in our over crowded cities. We were told that the major problem with this anti-illegal alien immigration issue is voter apathy. The Ventura county group has been fighting this apathy for years now. A thoughtful person can only hope that more voters will get involved in anti-illegal immigration community activism. And that anti-illegal alien groups leaders use their best consistent personal leadership fair ethics to bring these immigration topics to our neighborhoods. Only with an enlightened anti-illegal immigration-voting block can we generate a landslide vote in the next local or national election to correct this lawless matter. Get informed, get smart and vote smart! Vote to preserve the sovereignty of the US of A for our children and us. I wish you a happy Fourth of July and see you at the next rally. Get involved.

Dude,
Unless you are native American... you and your minions are illegal immigrants. Get off of it. Go back to Europe or wherever.
Both my parents were native Californians '23 and '28 and I am a native Venturan '65 as is my wife (LA '69). My father served every day in WWII and Korea. So "Don't you don't tell me."
Assimilate and get over it. Mexican women are really quite cute!

Dear dr_l_ron_bumquist;
You sound confused.
Please read for better comprehension the article again and especially the last paragraph. The author is against illegal alien immigration, and for LEGAL immigration. Do I need to inform you that the rally was against illegal alien immigration and so is this article?
This is not about you or your family, unless illegal. I hope this helps.
PS....you off topic issues of bringing up anthropological native indigenous peoples and your family geneology is fascinating, but hardly the point of this article.

Hi Archer...
...glad my deep roots in the Golden State interest you. I put that in there so no one can doubt my roots in this State (as also noted by the story's author). But alas, I too, am an immigrant. Legal or illegal? Depends on your side. To many Native Americans, I am humbly the illegal.
Remember many flags flew over this state (nine, or ten counting the Freemont flag, more than the six flags over Texas). Remember there was a war and some payment made to Mexico for the California territories. Borders were drawn favoring the USA (San Diego's deep water port). A fair deal? That would depend on your perspective at the time. I bet many of Mexico's people were offended. The USA got a valuable territory.
These "Minutemen" organizations are nothing more than xenophobes. Alas, you must read between the lines and follow the links. These people are vigilantes and a bona fide hate group (SPLC). I honestly think they are not for any sort of immigration (unless the new immigrant is white).
Again, read between the lines. Hope this helps... thanks for being civil if not somewhat condescending. I suspected to be killed by the Star's regulars... I guess they don't make it to this area of the website much.
On this 4th of July Holiday. Celebrate our Nation's birthday by remembering:
E Pluribus unum.
Dr. Bumquist
PS: Latinos will be the LEGAL majority in California by 2045-2050... I bet that scares the pants off these people.

Archer,
"California google facts."
What I stated was wrong? Go point to point and "correct me." How many flags flew over our wonderful Golden State? Spain and Mexico? Is this not true?
"Dr. L. Ron Bumquist."
Ever heard of a pseudonym? I guess not Mr. Mark Twain.
"You brought up race first."
Put "race" through the "find next" on your browser and it will NOT be found in anything I wrote! I said "racist." These "Minutemen" groups are racist as defined by the Southern Poverty Law Center and I stick to it. I am shocked this paper even put this article on this web page. Are you the author of this article?
As for me, my late father was born in 1923 in Thermal, California. They migrated to the Kern County foothills. He was emancipated in 1939 by the Kern County Courts and joined the Navy. He did his boot camp in San Diego and departed from North Island in San Diego. He approached Pearl Harbor on 12-7-1941 on an oil tender. They got a few shots off to the Japanese but (quickly) departed south to Midway.
My mother was born in Los Angeles, CA to Swedish immigrants, in 1928. My Grandfather worked on the Long Beach docks back when being a "longshoreman" was backbreaking work.
My parents ended up in Ventura, CA in the early 1960's. They had me in 1965. My address at the time was downtown Ventura. My birth certificate states this as facts. My mother was 39 and my father at 42. Do the math.
"Race is not culture."
I don't get this. Of course it is. All races have their unique culture which we, as Americans, can all enjoy. From Chinese and Mexican food, and those delicious Swedish meatballs, it is all out there for all of America.
"in your sick warped world it is."
No, that is your average Ventura County Star poster.
"try progressive liberal Huffington Blog"
Now you are being redundant.
Please, try not to hate. Oh, and I take back calling you civil... just the typical Ventura County Star poster.... way to go.. you do this paper proud.

PS to Bumquist...
Nice straw man. Very pretty.
Long, off topic, misleading, pompous, dismissive, and verbose in your use of words.
I'd give it a 1 point.
Clearly the Imperial Beach doctor has been OUTed!
