The Ventura County Sheriff's Department's bomb squad this weekend destroyed a pipe bomb that was found behind an old Home Depot store in Thousand Oaks, authorities said.
The 6-inch-long bomb was found in a parking lot in the 500 block of Ventu Park Road about 6 p.m. Sunday by a Thousand Oaks man who was out for a walk, said Detective Eric Buschow of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
The bomb squad used a high pressure water cannon to disable the device.
Investigators determined someone used a sparkler to light the bomb, but the fuse went out before it exploded, Buschow said.
The bomb looked like it had been in the parking lot for a short time, said Senior Deputy Larry Bull of the bomb squad.

You wouldn't be so relaxed about your comments if this was happening in every parking lot in Ventura County. Just be happy it doesn't happen more.

I wondered where I left that thing...
I kid, I kid.
Seriously though--who makes pipe bombs? That's so last decade.

Seriously-SHIPFACED: I've lived here 22 years in T.O, Westlake and now Newbury Park. Since when is Ventu Park Rd. considered T.O.? Ralph's is across the street. Is that T.O, too?

shipfaced acts as though nothing happens in good ol' Camarillo. This is a very real situation and unfortunately, this type of thing could happen any where, not just Oxnard or Port Hueneme.
