VERIZON FOUNDATION TO GIVE $42K TECH GRANT TO WELLNESS COMMUNITY DURING CANCER SURVIVOR PROGRAM

WHAT: The Verizon Foundation will present The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura with a check for $42,000 as 24 participants in the group's LiveWell program watch. The group is a joint project between the Lance Armstrong Foundation and The Wellness Community nationally to help cancer survivors transition from active treatment to life after treatment ends. A representative from the Lance Armstrong Foundation will be there to witness the presentation.

Funding from the Verizon grant will help support The Wellness Community's efforts to leverage technology in order to implement telemedicine technology that provides access to programs in satellite locations, build Web fund-raising tools and improve the participant database management system.
