Bill and Mary Cox celebrated 64 years of marriage on Dec. 24th, 2007.
Bill, a native Californian raised in Ventura, met and married Mary Reagan, from Prescott, Ariz. in Long Beach, while working for Douglas Aircraft. After a short time in Happy Camp they moved to Ventura near BillÕs parents, Arthur and Ruth Cox.
They have two sons, Art of Grants Pass, Glenn of Santa Maria and two daughters, Julie Compton of Camarillo and Beverly Helland of Clovis, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Bill retired as head of Contracts Management Division after a long career in the Naval contracting field at Port Hueneme and Point Mugu.
Both Mary and Bill have spent many years volunteering in their community, from when their children were young until today. Bill, an avid fisherman, spent many years in the Coast Guard Auxiliary doing boat inspections, teaching safety classes and as president. He has also worked with Food Share and Habitat for Humanity.
Mary is currently volunteer coordinator for the Ventura Friends of the Library bookstore.
