Family of missing teen gather at beach

As rescue workers continue their search for a boy who was washed off the rocks near Mugu Rock, family members gathered nearby.

The family of 16-year-old Victor Mendez Ortiz gathered at Point Mugu beach Sunday looking out at the spot where the teen had been washed into the ocean a day earlier.
“He was quiet,” his uncle Reymundo Diaz said in Spanish. “He liked to go to church. He didn’t go out dancing.”
Search and rescue teams continued their search for Mendez using helicopters Sunday afternoon. But there was still no sign of the teen who was washed off a rock while fishing at Point Mugu.
Mendez lived in Oxnard with his sister and brother. His parents and two younger brothers live in Mexico. They’ve been told about the incident but can’t afford to come to the U.S., family members said.

anyway anybody knows how we can help this family, especially the mom come here to be with her other children at this time. I will help, will any of you?

What does legal status have to do with this tragic incident? He was fishing not trying to cross the border. Focus on the story!

I may be reading wrong but no where did i see that a life was lost. I see a young boy missing. A young human boy, no matter the race, religion, or legal status. If you cant be proud of the fact that this country has an open mind and open arms...maybe you should leave.
