Non-Profit Peace Thru Music is a local organization founded by Tony Barnes in 2002 that is dedicated to helping children develop their creativity through music.  Peace Thru Music donates musical instruments to children who otherwise do not have the means to obtain them.

Studies have shown that music develops independence and imagination.  Music also helps enhance a child's motor, math and social skills.

To that end Tony has teamed up with Zoeys Cafe in Ventura to help raise money for Peace Thru Music.  A benefit concert starring international surfer turned musician Timmy Curran and band will take place on Saturday Jan 12th 8pm at the Masonic Temple 482 E Santa Clara Ave in downtown Ventura.   Also featured that evening will be local musician Lee Koch and popular L.A. musician Joey Ryan.   All ages are welcome.  TIckets are $15 and can be purchased at Zoeys 451 E Main St or charge by phone at 805 652-1137.  More info at www.myspace.com/zoeyscafeandloft  or www.myspace.com/peacethrumusicorg
