Cowboys return to Oxnard

The Cowboys will hold their summer training camp on the fields adjacent to the Residence Inn River Ridge for two to three weeks starting in late July, the team announced this afternoon,
Exact dates for the camp won't be announced until the National Football League releases the preseason schedule, sometime in the next few weeks, said Rich Dalrymple, director of public relations for the Cowboys. The reporting date is expected to be during the week of July 21-25, he said.
The Cowboys held their camp in Oxnard from 2004-2006, then agreed to a long-term deal to hold the camp at the Alamodome in San Antonio until at least 2011.
But the Alamodome had a prior scheduling commitment that conflicted with this summer's training camp, so the team needed an alternative site.
"It was a natural place for us to look first, because the treatment we've received there. It just made sense for us," Dalrymple said. "Logistically, it's an outstanding location for us."

Awesome. We love the Cowboys. It so much fun to go out and see them.. My son will be so exicited. I'm sure the people of Oxnard will support their welcome. Go Cowboys!

I am not a Cowboys fan AT ALL (go Packers!) but do think this is a great thing for the fans that live here. And pretty cool overall that an NFL team...one of the TOP NFL teams...picks this as their training camp.

WE ARE SOO EXCITED!! ALL 5 OF MY KIDS JUST RAN AROUND THE HOUSE SCREAMING!!! we are not cowboys fans but we had a blast with them 2 years ago when they came. they come to base and meet with the military families- awesome group of people. my 3 year old still has a crush on his fav cheerleader!!
