Palmisano clinic nets $900 for school scholarship
The second annual Joseph Palmisano Memorial Clinic raised $900 on Friday for the student scholarship fund for Sacred Heart School in Ventura.
John Palmisano, a former basketball player at Buena High and Ventura College, was elated with the results of the event. Thirty players participated in the clinic. He's one of eight children to play basketball and six of the siblings went to play in college. Sisters, Michelle and Teresa, are in the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame.

Agoura High to host Nike SPARQ combine, clinics
Agoura High and Robert Steele, a speed and strength coach, will lead the Nike SPARQ combine and clinics starting Saturday at 9 a.m. at Agoura High, 28545 W. Driver Ave., Agoura Hills.
The clinics will continue on March 8, 22 and 29. Sessions include April 12, 19 and 26. May 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 will be the final sessions. The clinics are open to advanced level youth, high school, college and professional football players.
All coaches are welcome. Participants are eligible to attend the USC or Stanford Nike Football combines this spring. The National Nike Combine Testing will be held March 15 in Long Beach. The Ventura County combine will be May 31 with special NFL guests.
Steele is running a Nike SPARQ baseball camp every Saturday through the end of May at the old Agoura field, 5301 Chesebro Drive, Agoura Hills, from 3 to 5 p.m. Ages 8-18 are welcome. Cost is $40 per session.
