Exhibitors, sponsors are sought for Earth Day fete

"Eco-friendly" exhibitors, vendors and sponsors are invited to participate in Thousand Oaks' 11th annual Arbor/Earth Day Celebration.

Hosted by the city of Thousand Oaks and Conejo Recreation and Park District, the family event, which draws more than 5,000 visitors, will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 19 at Conejo Creek Park North, 1379 E. Janss Road.

The festival features entertainment, tree plantings, hands-on children's activities, tree and plant giveaways, composting information, crafts and a Pause4Kids Art-athon.

Guest speakers will include park rangers; a variety of native wild animals also will be featured.

The goal of the event is to promote a healthy, prosperous and sustainable environment by highlighting planet-friendly activities, services and products.

Organizers especially want to highlight local community groups, agencies and businesses that promote environmental awareness and practices, or that produce environmentally friendly, nontoxic products and services.

For an application to participate as an exhibitor or vendor, visit http://www.toaks.org/city_hall/depts/public_works/arbor.asp or contact Gay Mosser in the City Manager's Office at 449-2107 or gmosser@toaks.org.

Businesses interested in sponsoring the event should contact Jana Covell at 449-2660, ext. 258, or jcovell@mx.tol.lib.ca.us.

Nonprofit organizations can exhibit for free.

Vendors can reserve a 10-by-10-foot booth, table and two chairs for $75.

Individuals or organizations that want more information can contact Mosser.
