Islanders' Sillinger to undergo season-ending hip surgery
New York Islanders center Mike Sillinger will undergo season-ending hip surgery within the next week.
Sillinger hasn't played since Feb. 5 when he was forced out of the lineup by a nagging hip injury. The 36-year-old is in the second season of a three-year deal that pays him $2.2 million this season and $2.3 million for 2008-09.
