Gull Wings Children's Museum earns $5,602.76 from Vons 10% Back to Schools Program
Gull Wings Children's Museum announced today that they are one of the top 250 earning groups nationally in the recent Vons 10% Back to Schools Program. As one of the top 250 groups, Vons has contributed an additional $1,000 for a grand total of $5,602.76.
Through this six week Back to Schools program, the Safeway family of stores has contributed over $3 million to support the education of youth across the nation.
Gull Wings Children's Museum is the only children's museum in Ventura County. It is a non profit that is supported through a small admission fee, grants, and generous donations from various community members. They pride themselves in addressing the needs of their community by providing reduced fees to school groups and community members. The additional $1000 is greatly welcomed to help them to continue to provide hands on exploration in a stimulating environment. Gull Wings is the place where imaginations soar!
"We appreciate all that Vons does and for their ongoing commitment to supporting our museum" said Lorraine Villarreal, Board of Directors President. "Because of Vons/Safeway participation in the eScrip program and our commitment to sign up all of our museum families with eScrip, we have the most successful program in the entire area. In addition, many of our families now shop only at Vons/Safeway because of this wonderful program".
Vons 10% Back to Schools program allowed schools to earn 10% of items purchased by school supporters from participating manufacturers this past summer. Top Vons manufacturers contributing to Gull Wings Children's Museum through the program included Kraft Foods, Pepsi, Kellogg's, General Mills, Sara Lee and Unilever.
The eScrip program delivers marketing programs that bring retailers, manufacturers and service providers forward in support of education of youth. To date, the eScrip program has generated more than $180 million in merchant contributions to schools and organizations across the country.
