Pacific named model school
Subheader
Pacific High School in Ventura has been chosen as one of 12 model continuation high schools in the state.
The 12 schools were recognized Tuesday by state Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell for their outstanding programs designed to help at-risk students.
"A student dropping out of school is a tragedy that could lead to a lifetime of disappointment and missed opportunities," O'Connell said in a news release. "These 12 continuation high schools have great programs that help students work with their individual challenges so they can complete their high school education that can lead to better opportunities in life, college, or careers."
The Model Continuation High School Recognition Program is a partnership between the state Department of Education and the California Continuation Education Association.
