Bryans lose in final of Delray tournament
Camarillo's Bob and Mike Bryan were upset in the doubles final at the International Tennis Championship in Delray Beach, Fla., on Sunday.
The top-seeded twins lost to second-seeded Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Britain's Jamie Murray, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 tiebreak.
Qualifier beats Blake for title: Qualifier Kei Nishikori became the first Japanese man to win an ATP title in 16 years by upsetting top-seeded James Blake 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the International Tennis Championships final.
"I still can't believe it that I beat James Blake," the 18-year-old Nishikori told the crowd, which included a dozen Japanese fans chanting "Nippon! Nippon!" high up in the stands. "I've only seen him on TV. This is my best tournament ever."
With the win, the 244th-ranked Nishikori is expected to move to a No. 122 ranking. He is the youngest player to win an ATP title since Lleyton Hewitt won Adelaide as a 16-year-old in 1998.
Nishikori saved four match points in his semifinal against third-seeded Sam Querrey on Saturday.
Henin takes title: Coming off a dispiriting quarterfinal loss to Maria Sharapova at the Australian Open, Justine Henin won the title at the Diamond Games by beating Karin Knapp of Italy 6-3, 6-3 at Antwerp, Belgium.
Almagro prevails in Brazil: Second-seeded Nicolas Almagro of Spain fought off a comeback attempt by countryman Carlos Moya to win the Brazil Open 7-6 (4), 3-6, 7-5 at Costa Do Sauipe.
Pennetta wins Chile title: Flavia Penneta of Italy won the Cachantun Cup at Vina Del Mar, Chile, when Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic retired late in the second set because of a left ankle injury.

Coughlin breaks backstroke record
Five-time Olympic medal winner Natalie Coughlin set a world record in the 100-meter backstroke during a preliminary race at the Missouri Grand Prix at Columbia.
Coughlin finished the race in 59.21 seconds, lowering her previous world record in the event by 0.23 seconds. The world record was the second in two days: on Saturday, Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe set the mark in the 200-meter backstroke. Coventry broke a record that had stood for 16 years.
Earlier, Katie Hoff set her second American record in as many days when she and six-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps each cruised to a pair of victories at the Missouri Grand Prix.
Both easily won their respective 200-meter freestyle and 400 individual medley races on the second day of the meet. Hoff set an American record in the 200, finishing in 1 minute, 56.08 seconds to defeat Coughlin for the second time in two days. Coughlin set the previous mark.
Australian breaks 50-meter freestyle record: Australian Eamon Sullivan broke the 50-meter freestyle world record at the New South Wales Open in Sydney, Australia, finishing in 21.56 seconds to better the mark set by Russian Alexander Popov in 2000 by 0.08 seconds.

Austria's Matt wins men's slalom
Mario Matt won the inaugural men's World Cup slalom in Zagreb, Croatia, spoiling Ivica Kostelic's homecoming. Matt, a two-time world champion, won in an aggregate time of 1 minute, 51.36 seconds.
