Foundation elects new president
Eva Larson has been selected by the Board of Trustees of the Community Foundation for Oak Park as its new president.
Larson succeeds David Ross, who served as foundation president for 17 years. Ross will remain on the board as a trustee.
Larson, 47, has lived in Oak Park for 10 years and has served as the foundation's vice president for three years. She is married and has two children.
Other foundation officers for 2008 include Risa Littman, vice president; Diane Milavetz, treasurer; and Harvey Kern, secretary.
The nonprofit foundation was founded in 1979 and supports volunteer efforts in the community, as well as raises funds for community programs and projects. Most of the foundation's funds are spent in support of students in the Oak Park Unified School District.
The foundation also holds candidate forums for local elections.
