Simi Valley's Barr wins 130-pound title at Inland finals

Simi Valley High's Chris Barr won the 130-pound class after a 28-second pin in the final round at the CIF Inland Division Individual finals at Los Osos High in Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday.
Barr, the only champion from the Marmonte League finished 5-0 in the tournament with four decisions. Barr will complete along with teammate Jon Hamm in the Masters Tournament next weekend at Los Osos High.
Hamm, at 189 pounds, finished in fourth place.
As a team, Simi Valley finished in 12th place with 67 points.
Royal, which won the Marmonte League regular-season title, finished second overall with 174.5 points and had eight wrestlers place — six qualifying for the Masters.
Franky Dienz finished second overall at 135 pounds and Sergio Cortez took third place at 152. Sam Mestaz (112), Blake Ginsburg (130) and Aaron Vandriessche (160) each placed fourth. Mike Dumelle (140) came in fifth. All qualified for the Masters.
Heavyweight Diego Vargas and Brett Wilson (103) each finished sixth.
Thousand Oaks took eighth place overall with 94 team points.
Dillon Brockert took second place at 215 pounds. Colin Sasaki (112) and Behrod Katebian (135) each finished fourth. All three wrestlers qualified for Masters.
Other Marmonte League qualifiers for the Masters included Westlake's Jason Villavisencio, who finished third at 103 pounds, and Agoura's Pascal Combes-Kanoke, who took third place at 171.
