Garcia wins in Vegas with a 5th Rd Knockout

Miguel Angel Garcia (11-0, 9 KO's) of La Colonia/Pal Boxing Club In Oxnard remained undefeated with a 5th round TKO of Jorge Ruiz (5-4-1) on the undercard of the Kelly Pavlik vs Jermain Taylor PPV fight Saturday Feb 16th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Garcia remained in full control of the fight from the first round and impressively knocked out Ruiz with a huge overhand right at 1:35 of the 5th round. This was the first fight in 2008 for Garcia who last won a unanimous decision against Manuel Sarabia on Sept 20th 2007 at the Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas, Calif. Miguel is trained by his brother former World champ Roberto Garcia and is currently an honor student at Oxnard College.
