Second shooting occurs on same block
Juan Carlo / Star staff The Oxnard Police Department investigates the scene of a Wednesday shooting on Perkins Road in Oxnard. Two more people were shot in the same block Wednesday.
Two men were shot in Oxnard Thursday afternoon, in the same block where two other men were shot the night before.
The latest victims, aged 18 and 19, were standing in the 5400 block of Perkins Road with a group about 5 p.m. Thursday, when two men drove by, shot into the group and sped away, police said.
The two victims, whose names are being withheld, ran from the area and were later transported to St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard by a private party. Their injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
The shooter's vehicle is described as a dark-colored, recent model four-door sedan.
It is unknown whether the shooting is gang-related, police said.
Oxnard police were still looking Thursday for a man who shot two pedestrians Wednesday night in an apparent gang-related incident.
That shooting occurred about 9 p.m. Wednesday as a group of men walked along the 5400 block of Perkins Road.
A witness told police a male, from 18 to 21, drove up in a car and asked the men if they "gang-banged," Sgt. Fred Sedillos said. The man then opened fire, police said.
Sedillos said both victims, aged 23 and 18, were shot in the upper torso. They were in serious condition Thursday at St. John's Regional Medical Center. Their injuries apparently were not life-threatening, police said.
.Oxnard Police Department Cmdr. Mike Adair said there is no reason to believe that the two shootings are related at this point.
Anyone with information about Thursday's shooting may contact Detective Chris Williams at 486-6228.
Police asked anyone with information on the Wednesday shooting to call Detective Jeff Long at 486-6506.
Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling 982-7043.

I dont know about that those two detectives (undercover) seemed to stop that crime at the park before those four guys attacked those other two guys. So undercover work is important and valuable.
Just park ,wait and watch.........

They should change the name of Oxnard to Falluja. A State of Emergency needs to be declared with a curfew that is imposed by pain of death. As in Falluja, we should block off all access to Oxnard and evacuate the citizens through a checkpoint. Those coming out through the checkpoints would be checked for legal status, warrants, and terrorist gang affiliations/markings. Those that remain, would be considered terrorists and can be executed on site once the military goes in. After operation Oxnard, there would be only two ways into the city that are checkpoints for search and seizure. Oxnard is as lawless as the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan, it is time to re institute law there.

yet two more shootings in Oxnard...at this point nothing shocks me anymore when it happens in Oxnard. Citizens of Oxnard need to do something drastic, because the Police Department can only do so much. If this gets any worse we're going to make Compton look like Beverly Hills!

Face99: spoken like someone who either hasn't been to Fallujah or Baluchistan, or is prone to hyperbole. I grew up in Oxnard (lived on Perkins for many years), served in Al Anbar province for a year, and am soon heading to Afghanistan--all the very same places you are talking about. Clearly, I am much safer in Oxnard. And, Oxnard has much better Mexican food and doughnuts ;)

Maybe Oxnard PD should look into the computer program that Chief Bratton brought to LAPD when he took over.

Face99. may I say Moron. Man, how can you compare Oxnard to Fallujah. I never been there but the news shows how bad it is there. Next time find something better to compare Oxnard to.

Sounds more like vigilante justice.

OPD Cmdr Mike Adair said that there's no reason to believe these two shootings are related. There's no reason to believe they are not related.
I think Ventura Gang-Bangers are driving to South Oxnard, trying to make Oxnard look bad.

It looks like it is very common to hear a shooting taking place here in Oxnard. I agree with the comment made above: Take your kevlar when going out plus your 92 FS

Gang-banging is so juvenile and such a waste of time. These guys need to seriously get a life.

Falluja is actually the safest place in Iraq now, but the point is that the Oxnard/Port Hueneme area is as ghettoed and uncontrolled as any unsafe area in the U.S. Wanna have fun? Look at the Star's homicide map... Oxnard is just covered with so many red homicide points, the city looks like someone spilled ketchup all over it. It is a cesspool and is quite lawless.
