CORRECTION ON 'LION KING' DATE AT CAMARILLO UMC

(Please note this is a corrected and updated story)

"The Lion King," the story about a young lion who learns his place in the Circle of Life, is coming to the Camarillo United Methodist Church Sunday, March 9, in the Sermon in Word and Song series at both morning services 9 and 10:30.

Both services are open to the public free of charge.

The volunteer Lion King Chorus will sing songs from the musical. Dr. Jim Decker-Mahin, senior pastor, will provide the message.

The Disney movie, "The Lion King," opened in 1994 with Elton John as composer and Tim Rice, lyricist, for the music. The stage production started in 1997 in Minneapolis and moved on to Broadway and to the rest of the nation. The film won two Academy awards and the theater production, a Tony award.

The story of the "The Lion King" traces the life of a young lion, Simba, who learns his place in the Circle of Life while overcoming numerous obstacles.

The Camarillo United Methodist Church is located at 291 Anacapa Rd., north of Las Posas road. Please call the Church Office at 805-482-4312 or go to the Church web site www.cam-umc.org for more information.
