Camarillo man found in L.A. hotel room with boy arrested

A Camarillo man was arrested on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, a felony, after he was found in a Los Angeles hotel with a 15-year-old boy who had passed out from apparent alcohol consumption, police said.

Richard Willrodt, 48, an accountant, was arrested Saturday at the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, police said.

"This man drove all the way from Camarillo to East Los Angeles to meet a young boy he merely knew from the Internet," Lt. Paul Vernon of the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Area said in a prepared statement. "Willing or not, children under 18 years old cannot give consent for sexual relations. This is a very serious crime."

Willrodt promised a couple in an adjoining room that he and the boy would quiet down after the couple complained of noise, police said. But a short time later, security was called, as was the fire department because the boy had passed out from apparent alcohol consumption, police said.

Willrodt had met the boy through craigslist.org, police said.

Willrodt's laptop computer, along with other evidence, was seized, police said.

Bail was set at $20,000, police said.

The boy was examined at a hospital and released to his guardian.

Anyone with information on Willrodt should call Los Angeles Police Detective Thayer Lake at 213-972-1226.

Again another crime against a child with the bail being a slap in our faces ! Any harm against a child should be no bail at all !!!!! Lock them up and keep them there until they are sentenced !!!!

Has anyone noticed this guy's name? Richard Willrodt? I'm assuming his friends (if he has any) call him "Dick." If his parents are so nasty as to have given him such a name, maybe we can understand how he got this way.

This was in the star a few days ago...why do they keep rerunning the same story?
